“Our task is to educate their (students) whole being so they can face the future. We may not see the future, but they will and our job is to help them make something of it.” ―   Sir Ken Robinson

Active learning doesn’t have to stop when school is out. Our summer STEM-BASED MAKER + MATH CAMP promotes Project Based Learning (PBL) during summer vacations. Making Project Based Learning part of the summer experience gives our campers new opportunities to become leaders, thinkers, and problem-solvers. This powerful learning experience happens almost by stealth because our students are having too much fun figuring out how things work to realize that they are actually engaging in serious learning. It is extremely exciting to see how much they can accomplish in just one week.

The role of a creative leader is not to have all the ideas; it’s to create a culture where everyone can have ideas and feel that they’re valued.” ― Sir Ken Robinson

Children should enjoy discovering and exploring their talents and interests at their own pace & capacity, not confined by or limited to their schools or grade levels. There is a fundamental education system incompatibility all around the world. Our schools work on 19th century principles and simply cannot function effectively in the 21st century. Perfecting their obsolescence will not make them less obsolete: we need an entirely new paradigm. Fortunately, the 21st century provides exactly that. The tremendous forces of innovation buffeting the world, if effectively channeled, have more than enough power to transform our education system into exactly the vibrant tool we need.

“Learning does not conclude once the regular school year is over. We as educators know that learning is a life long process. Project Based Learning (PBL) is awesome in that it provides students with hands-on experience learning all the vital skills required to be successful in life. These skills include critical thinking, team work, planning, organizing, and time management. It also allows them the opportunity to discover and try new things and possibly find their niche in life. But most of all it provides the foundation for their becoming positive contributing members of society with a clearer view of their interest and capabilities. The use of technology and hands on application will solidify what they learn in theory by analyzing, synthesizing and actually applying what they learn in real world settings.” ―   Wyvonne L.
