STEM Camp (Grades 1 – 8)
EDNova Summer STEM + Maker Camp is perfect for STEM-motivated students from grades 4 through 8. The main objective of this camp is to introduce our youth to the elements of STEM + Maker culture and ideas. We offer fun activities that are challenging to our campers. Our STEM + Maker Camp combines significant content with a setting that encourages a sense of discovery and excitement through hands-on problem-solving and interactive exploration. Our projects are low-threshold in calculations yet high-impact in STEM content. Our camp is structured so that it offers a variety of entry points for different age groups and abilities. This structure will allow students to approach STEM + Maker ideas with minimal background, but lead to deep conceptual understanding and can be connected to advanced STEM topics & ideas in the future. Campers will have a lot of fun at camp, in turn, they will become more curious about the topics, thus, developing more interest in meaningful learning.
Math competition Prep Camp (Grades 3 – 6)
EDNova Summer Math Competition Prep Camp is perfect for Math-motivated students from grades 3 through 6. Math competitions teach extensive critical thinking and problem-solving skills, by exposing students to topics outside of the school curriculum. Your student will learn subject material outside of the school curriculum—areas like number theory, topology, logic, combinatorics, and deductive reasoning — practically by osmosis. Competition problems can expose your students to these areas without too much prior knowledge. In doing so, participating in competition training encourages your student to continue to learn more outside regular school Math. This training allows your child to leave elementary and middle school equipped with way more mathematical knowledge than regular school curricula will bring. In addition, Math competition training is very beneficial in developing important critical thinking skills your student can use for most of his/her life in “the real world.”
